Katherine Morena, MA, MHC-LP

Katie Morena is a Mental Health Counselor holding a provisional license (MHC-LP) in New York. When a young teenager, Katie discovered her passion for psychology and has since dedicated herself to becoming an educated, competent, and empathic professional. With a Master of Arts in Forensic Mental Health Counseling and an Advanced Certificate Post Baccalaureate in Criminal Investigation from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Katie remains a life-long learner even after exiting the classroom. She specializes in anxiety, depression, mindfulness, and stress management.
Rooted in the belief that each person has the inherent capacity for growth and healing, Katie creates a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. Her approach allows individuals to connect with their authentic selves, process difficult and uncomfortable emotions, and discover their own solutions to challenges. Katie aims to guide clients toward greater self-awareness and self-acceptance, fostering empowerment and resilience along the way.
Katie utilizes a range of therapeutic modalities including mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and humanistic therapy. Most importantly, her collaborative, empathic approach with her clients supports them in exploring and nurturing their inner potential and overcoming life’s challenges.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in person-centered principles, meaning that I focus on creating an environment of acceptance, empathy, and understanding.
