Kelcie Birsner is a passionate and empathetic Mental Health Counseling Intern with a focus on trauma and grief work. With a deep commitment to supporting individuals through their most difficult moments, Kelcie is dedicated to providing a compassionate and understanding space for those navigating loss, trauma, and the complexities of emotional healing.
Through her academic training and hands-on experience, Kelcie has developed a keen interest in helping clients process grief, manage trauma-related symptoms, and rebuild a sense of hope and resilience. She believes in a client-centered approach, utilizing therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy to tailor treatment to each individual's needs. Kelcie works collaboratively with clients, empowering them to explore their feelings, rediscover their strengths, and move forward in their healing journey.
In addition to her focus on trauma and grief, Kelcie is deeply passionate about supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. She is dedicated to providing an affirming, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where LGBTQIA+ individuals can explore their identity, address the unique challenges they may face, and receive compassionate support. Kelcie recognizes the intersection of trauma, grief, and the specific experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals and is committed to advocating for and promoting a therapeutic space where everyone is respected and heard.
Kelcie is also committed to ongoing learning and growth in the field, staying up to date with the latest research and therapeutic practices in trauma and grief work. She strives to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment where clients can express themselves freely and begin to heal from the pain of their past.
