It feels like life is a constant struggle, and catching a break seems impossible. Perhaps you've experienced trauma that lingers, adding an extra layer of difficulty to your daily challenges.

You yearn for a sense of relief, to escape from the pressures and stressors of life. Simple tasks become monumental, and you forget what it's like to feel unencumbered. Despite having connections, you feel alone in your journey. Loneliness and isolation have become familiar companions as you attempt to self-preserve by creating physical and emotional distance. In the midst of it all, you've lost touch with who you truly are, overshadowed by persistent worries. It seems like nobody really understands the depth of your struggles.

The pressure to appear capable and ready for anything has left you neglecting your own well-being. Despite your natural inclination to help others, accepting support for yourself feels foreign.

I've been in that place where it feels like nobody understands. Together, we can embark on the journey to the place you want to be. I offer the understanding, guidance, and support you need to bridge the gaps in your life. If you're looking for a therapist who comprehends your struggles, let's connect. Jesse Sturtz is an empathetic and open-minded mental health counselor with a provisional license in New York. Every person is different, so it is important to Jesse to be able to hear out his clients and help them to become the best version of themselves. His training and experience include but are not limited to treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, and substance use in adults, teens, and LGBT+ populations.

Jesse’s approach varies from person to person, and his practice utilizes CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) among other approaches. No matter which approach he utilizes, Jesse is transparent with whoever he is working with and likes to make therapy a collaborative effort. This way, he can ensure that every single one of his clients gets all of their needs met in a way that works for them.

Jesse’s Message to clients

Have you ever felt like you just couldn’t move forward? Like you’re being held down by the past and just can’t seem to move on? You want to take risks and get out into the world but are worried that anything that can go wrong will go wrong. When people ask what’s wrong, you can’t explain it, but you know that your struggles are real. There’s so much that you want to enjoy, but you’re held back because you don’t know if you can handle it. Sometimes nothing sounds better than to curl up into a ball and hide away. And yet you are expected to continue with your daily life as if there is nothing wrong. But it doesn’t need to be this way. There is hope.

Often your past experiences can feel like a wet blanket, over you at all times, influencing you in ways that you may not understand. Ways that nobody seems to understand. Ways that you would do anything to understand and unravel. Therapy is truly about understanding yourself in ways that you never before thought possible. And working together with your therapist to become the best version of who you are.

Whether you think that your problems are too big or too small for therapy, or if you are already convinced that therapy is right for you and are just looking for the right fit, I am here for you. You are one of a kind, and you deserve for your therapy to be one of a kind as well. Don’t hesitate. Reach out and allow me to come along with you on your therapeutic journey.

She understands the importance of holistic well-being, which is reflected in her approach to mental health support. She also worked at a special hospital for rheumatoid patients in Europe, where she developed empathy, patience, and a deep understanding of patients with chronic conditions.
